Salsa, directed by Leon Gast in 1974 follows the evolutionary course of 20th century Latin music through archived images: from its origins in Africa, passing through the first Hollywood films, to the unstoppable Salsa boom of the mid seventies with special appearances by the Fania All Stars in Puerto Rico and at Yankee Stadium in New York City.
